When purchasing a home most mortgage companies need a WDI (Wood Destroying Insect) Report of the home. The purpose of a WDI Report is to look for any signs of visible evidence of termites, old house borers, powder post beetles, carpenter ants, or carpenter bees that may be present in the structure.
The current owner is usually responsible for treating any reported infestation. Even though new homes typically do not have any signs of termites, a termite inspection should be performed to see if there are conducive conditions for future termite infestation.

Termite Inspections
Both the seller and the buyer should be aware that this report covers only what an inspector concludes from what is visible on the date of the termite inspection. Wood-destroying insects choose secretive hiding spots that are often impossible to detect. This means that a report indicating no visible infestation is no guarantee that these insects are totally absent from the home.

You and your real estate agent will receive the termite inspection report on-site. If you are not able to be present for the inspection we will e-mail a copy of the termite inspection report or you can download it using a username and password that you create in our schedule center.
